Ritmo & Raíces: A Latin American Heritage Celebration
Ritmo & Raíces means “Rhythm & Roots” — a celebration of the music, dance, traditions, and cultures of Latin America.
Kick off the season of Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations at Denver Union Station with Ritmo & Raíces, a free, family-friendly celebration on Sunday, September 6, from 11 a.m.–3 p.m.
Hosted by the Mexican Cultural Center and presented by Denver Union Station, this inaugural event celebrates the rich and diverse cultures of Latin America through live music, traditional and contemporary dance, food, history, and community.
Live Performances on the Plaza
Enjoy cultural performances throughout the day from:
Sangre de Mexico — Mexico
Qhaswa Perú — Peru
Mariachi Internacional Denver — Mexico
Estudio Colombia — Colombia
Beyond the stage, enjoy free face painting, bilingual historic tours of Denver Union Station, and community partner activations featuring hands-on craft stations for families throughout the day. Each participating community partner will offer a different craft activity, giving kids and families plenty to discover as they explore the celebration.
Festive Food & Tequila
Guests are also invited to explore the Station and taste their way through its collection of restaurants, bars, and cafés, with participating destinations offering Latin American-inspired food and beverage specials available for purchase.
For guests 21+, stop by a donation-based tequila tasting experience and discover a taste of one of Mexico’s most celebrated spirits. Valid ID required.
Hispanic Heritage Month officially begins September 15. Join us as we kick off the season early with an afternoon celebrating the rhythm, roots, and cultures of Denver’s Latin American community.
Ritmo & Raíces is free and open to all ages.
